Jen Kavanagh
I am a freelance museum curator and oral historian, passionate about broadening access to collections through collaboration. I deliver oral history training, support community collecting initiatives, curate exhibitions, lead heritage projects and provide advice and guidance for museums, charities, trusts and community organisations.
With over a decade's experience in the museum sector, I have worked at institutions including London Transport Museum, the Science Museum and London Museum, before going freelance in 2015 and establishing my company, Jen Kavanagh Ltd, in 2022.
I specialise in community heritage, oral history and contemporary collecting, with engagement and collaboration at the core of my practice. I believe museums should better represent their audiences and that collections should be diversified to ensure they remain relevant. If you’re interested in working together please do get in touch at hello@jenkavanagh.com.
