I'm Jen - a freelance museum curator, oral historian and project manager with over a decade's experience, passionate about broadening audiences, collections and thinking within heritage institutions. I've been lucky to work at some great museums including the Imperial War Museum, London Transport Museum, the Science Museum and most recently the Museum of London. My roles have ranged from community learning officer to senior curator, but all have audience engagement and creative collaboration at their heart.
I take my professional development very seriously, especially as it has provided brilliant opportunities to work with some fantastic peers across the sector, both at home and overseas. This involves:
AMA received through the Museums Association in 2011 and volunteering as a mentor for AMA candidates since
Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts since 2018
Treasurer for the Social History Curators Group 2013-2016
Advisor for the British Museum's Object Journeys project since 2015
Member of the Horniman Museum's Engagement Advisory Panel since 2016
Awarded Trevor Walden bursary in 2010 enabling a trip to Tairawhiti Museum in New Zealand
I am available for project management and delivery, from both a learning and collections perspective, as well as consultation and evaluation. I am based in London but more than happy to travel or collaborate remotely, so please do get in touch.
